Jamie Christopher passed away from heart issues at his home today. He served as an associate producer and first assistant director on several Marvel movies, including Thor: The Dark World, Guardians of the Galaxy, Avengers: Age of Ultron, and others. He was 52.
In response to Christopher’s loss, Marvel Studios executives Kevin Feige and Louis D’Esposito released a joint statement. Rian Johnson, James Gunn, David Yates, and Sam Raimi were among the regular collaborators of Christopher.
Johnson brought him back to begin his Knives Out series in 2019 after their initial collaboration on The Last Jedi (2017).
Additionally important to the Harry Potter series, Christopher worked as first assistant director or first assistant director: second unit on all eight of the movies that were released between 2001 and 2011.
